Swales have been proven to <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color:#00b050;\"><span style=\"font-size:large;\"><b>green the desert, manage salt, reverse land degradation and restore deserts to productive landscapes. With contours marked out, a couple of \u00a0hours work with a tractor or some while longer with a spade can generate long lasting \u00a0extreme benefits to the environment at very low cost. We have planted cow fodder trees along our swales such as tagasaste, poplar, willows , sapote, coprosma, grapes and figs.
